Jesũ nĩũnyendete, Nĩngũteng’era gwaku
Nĩwe ũnjiganĩte ũrĩa mũũru angĩũka.
Mbaru-inĩ ciaku Jesũ ũhithe muoyo wakwa,
ũhithe Mũhonokia, Honokia ngoro yakwa.

Ndirĩ hangĩ ngwĩhitha, we nowe ndĩĩhokete
Ndũkandige Mwathani, ũnjiguĩre tha Jesũ,
Niĩ nĩngwĩtĩkĩtie, Nĩwe ũhotithagia,
Rĩrĩa ndona ũgwati, mbaara-inĩ tũrĩ o nawe.

Nĩmbataragio nĩwe, nĩũmenyagĩrĩra
Rĩrĩa njagĩte kĩndũ, We nĩwe ũndeithagia
Teithia arĩa maragwa, Cionje ũcihe hinya
Honia arĩa marũarĩte, Tongoria atumumu.

Thakame ĩo yaku ĩtheretie wega ma
Nũiyũrĩwo nĩtha, nacio igatũigana
Gwaku Mwathani nĩkuo, Gwĩgĩthima kĩa muoyo,
Therũka ngoro-inĩ yakwa tene na tene.
